Michael Brockers is excited to join the Detriot Lions after playing his first nine seasons with the LA Rams. At the start of the 2020 season, he played in 107 career games with 105 starts, recorded 462 career tackles (253 solo), with 20.0 sacks.

 

After his first five seasons, his 14.5 sacks were the third-best amongst defensive lineman in the first round of the 2012 draft. He was named to the Pro Football Writers of American/Pro Football Weekly All-Rookie team in 2012. He was voted captain for the 2018, 2019 and 2020 seasons by his teammates.

Michael's career began at Chavez High School in Houston, Texas and he played football for Lobos head coach Mike Jackson. He was a dominating defensive end that was considered among the top prospects in the state of Texas for the Class of 2009...was rated the 10th defensive end in the country and 23rd prospect in the state of Texas by Rivals.com. Scout.com regarded him as the nation’s 16th defensive end, with both recruiting services giving him a four-star rating.

 

Michael was able to add Super Prep All-American honors while leading the Lobos to the first round of the Texas Class 5A state playoffs in 2008, as he also earned first-team All-Region and All-State honors as a senior. He previously established himself as one of the state’s up-and-coming defenders after finishing his junior season with 59 tackles and 10 sacks in 2007.

 

He is the oldest of Tiffany Brockers' five children and in addition to spearheading Brockers Youth Foundation intiatives, he has also supported LA RAms events including the Make-A-Wish Celebrity Server dinner, Motion for Kids Holiday Party Chair, Defensive Line Paintball Tournament to benefit St. Patrick Center and the All-Community Team Ticket program - Brockers’ Show Stoppers. Michael is married to Faith and they have three children, Makaela, Makhi and Makael.
